AssureSign Applications: Human Resources and On-Boarding

We at AssureSign have come to recognize that the applications for electronic signature are virtually limitless.  Every few weeks this blog will highlight an application that either fits a specific market segment or that broadly applies to all markets.  This week’s focus is on Human Resource and On-Boarding applications.  AssureSign has implemented both biometric and certified signature solutions in several large and mid-size enterprises to create efficiencies and speed up the employee on-boarding process.

A national leader in background screening solutions has integrated AssureSign directly into their customer portal to create efficiencies in processing completed authorization forms.  AssureSign’s DocumentNOW™ API allows users to easily integrate into legacy systems and web applications. Users maintain their existing interface to request a background check authorization for an applicant, who receives notice of the request for the background check authorization and is directed to the portal.  AssureSign customization and branding provides a seamless look and feel, presenting the screen authorization directly to the applicant’s computer screen to be signed electronically.  Once completed, the document is sent to existing workflow systems.  The client’s conversion from traditional print, sign and fax processes created efficiencies in document processing and management and return on investment was easily recognized.  Soon, federal I-9 forms will also be completed electronically via the same interface.

Another customer, Rhodes Retail Services, Inc., was able to reduce their on-boarding time from six to seven days down to one or two days for its mostly virtual and/or traveling staff.  Interviews are typically conducted by traveling supervisors, who send applicants paperwork via AssureSign that can be signed electronically and returned to the corporate office immediately, where workflow controls ensure that information is routed to the appropriate department.  Keeping everything in electronic form allows for more efficient storage and retrieval in the virtual office.

These are just two examples of how AssureSign can be used in Human Resources and On-Boarding applications.  Some additional applications include:

  • New-hire package completion
  • Enterprise-wide document signatures (policy manuals, NDAs, security policy acceptance, etc.)
  • Insurance documents
  • Project management milestone signoff
  • Payroll approvals
  • Time sheet entries and approvals

The electronic signature market is just plain exciting.  I cannot think of a better place to be right now.  After years of evangelism and education, companies large and small are recognizing great benefit from electronic signature solutions. This, in turn, is fueling tremendous success for AssureSign.  

I hear from customers every day about how thrilled they are with their decision to implement AssureSign.   Anyone would be pleased to hear that, but what’s most exciting is hearing about specifics; the real value it brings to their business.  Some examples of what we are hearing include:

  • “AssureSign allows us to operate virtually – we don’t have a physical office, yet we get contracts signed and any employee, nationwide, can retrieve them.”
  • “The biometric signature, using a mouse, provides a higher degree of reliability in the validity of the signature; this was a significant difference from our previous electronic signature vendor.”
  • “We integrated AssureSign seamlessly into our existing web application in days and will be able to reallocate hundreds of man-hours each month by alleviating the need to track down and manage faxed agreements.”
  • “We were able to cut a six or seven day process down to one or two days.”
  • “We have increased revenue by 15% and decreased risk exposure by 75%.”

It's An Exciting Time at AssureSign!

It’s an exciting time at AssureSign!  Since launching nine months ago we have made great progress in bringing AssureSign to market as the premier biometric electronic signature solution for any enterprise.   Our legacy of providing innovative and highly reliable hosted service applications, through sister company 3PV, allowed us to quickly establish ourselves as an enterprise-class service offering. Some highlights of our first nine months:

  • Launched the AssureSign brand and website
  • Integrated with Salesforce and became a certified AppExchange partner
  • Brought to market two significant software releases
  • Attended five major industry-specific trade events and two Electronic Signature and Records Association (ESRA) events
  • Increased installed base by 300% and daily transactions by nearly 1000%
  • Began conducting webinars, demonstrating how electronic signatures can make significant improvements in time-to-contract/time-to-revenue
  • Doubled our sales and marketing staff (and there’s room for more) 

The sales environment is always more fun and rewarding when you have a great solution that brings tangible value to your customers.  We certainly have that going for us here at AssureSign. I highlight some examples of what we have experienced, through our customers:

  • AssureSign as a web-based/Software-as-as-Service (SaaS) application – An insurance agency was able to expand their footprint to new markets by using a hosted application that required no hardware or software.
  • One-and-Done – The same agency increased their close percentage by 65% and decreased their average time to contract from days to hours; oftentimes getting the policy signed while still on the phone.
  • Web-services/XML-based API, speed to market – Within hours of a brief technical discussion between our development team and a customer, collaboratively, we were able to create a proof of concept integrating with a ‘new to us’ CRM application for the first time.
  • Sophisticated workflow and ‘more than signatures’ – Several customers are letting AssureSign fulfill back-office workflow by sending signed contracts directly to departments that can act upon fulfillment or provisioning.  Through Saleseforce CRM integration, these customers are also taking relevant customer data and mapping it into agreements and purchase orders – creating unique documents for each customer to sign – much more than just getting a signature. 

Things are heating up at AssureSign and the coming weeks will bring us to salesforce.com’s Dreamforce the first week of November, ESRA’s Fall event the second week of November and a new software release shortly thereafter.  Look for more webinars, educational videos and future events on the website and sales will be posting regular updates here as well.  As I said when I started it’s an exciting time at AssureSign and if you interested in being a part of it, just let me know!
